Small Animal Medicine & Surgery

Dr. Berry is board certified in canine and feline practice.  We perform a variety of general and specialized procedures and employ blood pressure, heart and breathing monitors, intravenous fluids and comprehensive pain control with our surgeries.

Puppy Socialization Classes

Classes are held at the clinic for puppies between 3 and 6 months of age.  Classes are taught by Dr. Sarah Charron. 

Exotic and Avian Medicine

We see ferrets, rabbits, pocket pets and birds.  We consult with an array of specialists regarding complicated cases.

Endoscopy

We use our veterinary endoscope to remove foreign bodies from throats & stomachs (4 fish hooks to date) and biopsy the stomach and intestine for diagnostic purposes. 

Cryosurgery

This technique is used to correct abnormal eyelashes and the removal of small lumps.

Bone Plating

We stock bone plating equipment in three different size systems that enable us to repair fractures from toy breed dogs and cats to giant breed dogs.

TTA - Tibial Tuberosity Advancement

Tibial Tuberosity Advancement is now available.  This procedure is used to stabilize torn cruciate ligaments.  It works by changing the angles of force within the knee.  It is ideal for large athletic dogs and has fewer complications and faster recovery than the previous recommendation (TPLO).

Blood Pressure

We use a blood pressure monitor during surgery to ensure optimal pressures and also to screen senior cats and pets with thyroid and kidney disorders.

Ultrasound

We use our ultrasound to assess abdominal conditions and to do guided biopsies of the liver and a variety of masses.

Cancer Treatment

We treat a variety of cancers in dogs and cats with surgery and medical protocols.  Our goal is always, first and foremost, quality of life and treatment is much gentler then in human medicine with minimal side effects.

Cruciate Ligament Surgery

We use an external stabilization system to repair Anterior Cruciate Ruptures.  Which is a common knee injury in dogs and occasionally cats.

Dental Care & X-Rays

We use a dental x-ray unit with detailed film, just like the human dentists.  We also have a high speed dental drill equipment for efficient tooth extractions.  Dr. Berry has taken additional courses in Veterinary Dentistry.

Pharmacy

We carry a complete pharmaceutical inventory for our patients.

Flea and Parasite Prevention Programs

We carry safe and effective products that we tailor to the pet's individual needs.

Microchip Identification

Is a safe, painless and permanent pet identification method.  It protects a valued member of your family.

24 Hour Emergency Service Available

A doctor at our hospital or our partner clinic, is available at all times for emergency care.  Just call 519-797-2960 and you will be directed to the veterinarian on call.

Financial Plans Available

We use Medicard and Care Credit (as well as VISA & Mastercard) to provide as many payment options as possible.

Pet Pick Up & Delivery

We are pleased to provide complimentary pick up and delivery of patients within Saugeen Shores.

Pet Foods & Supplies

We have a well stocked Pet Pantry and carry a full line of Veterinary diets as well as a large variety of pet supplies.

Boarding

We provide boarding for dogs and cats with outdoor runs and indoor kennels and frequent dog walks.

Grooming services are provided year round for all breeds of dogs and cats by Divine Dog Professional Grooming.  Call 519-797-2960 for an appointment.

"Angel Fund"

Southampton Pet Hospital has formed an "Angel Fund" which is funded by donations made by Dr. Jeff Berry and Staff in memory of the wonderful pets they have had the opportunity to care for.  Private donations are also made by clients with all proceeds going to benefit stray animals.  The "Angel Fund" is used to spay and neuter the adoptable animals in hopes that they may find a new home.  We hope to give these animals a second chance in life and the opportunity of new found happiness!  Any donations would be greatly appreciated!
