There is always the difficult path we must take towards the end of a friend’s life. We want to be just as helpful and supportive during this time as we have been throughout their life.

What is pet euthanasia and how do I know when it’s the right time?

Euthanasia is derived from Greek and means ‘good death’. Basically, providing a caring choice to end a life of suffering and illness. Knowing when to make that choice is very difficult and personal. We will be available to help you with this decision and review the details of the process. An absolute fact is when you make these decisions out of love, there is no such thing as wrong.

Can I say goodbye to my pet in the comfort of our home?

We will do everything in our power to make your dog’s final time with you as compassionate as possible. Whether the euthanasia is done at home, sprinkling tobacco on your dog or collecting a lock of hair; this process is about your dog and the relationship you share. Naturally, there is some timing limitation with home visits, but early discussions will help with organization.

How is the euthanasia drug administered?

The medication to perform the euthanasia will be given in a vein. Most dogs will receive some sedation before the injection to reduce any anxiety with a needle. Please ask if you have any questions.

What is the cost of pet euthanasia?

Cost is based on a few factors. Home visits and special cremation requests factor into pricing. Again, during this time, we will answer any question you may have.

Does your clinic provide bereavement counselling?

Unfortunately, we do not have grief counselling training. We do have ears, hearts and many years of pet experience. If you are struggling at any time, feel free to call and we will try to find help.
